About Jonathan and JillianJonathan Tekell started his music career when he found himself unable to play any music at all. Throughout his life, creating music had been an outlet for personal expression and renewal. In high school, he excelled in music theory, and he developed friendships with the guitar and the piano. However, at the end of 2016, he was unable to play either of them after having surgery to repair torn ligaments in his wrist. During his recovery, he sought God about what to do with music, and he felt led to write the music he could no longer play. What started out as a way of self-expression developed into a way of Christ-profession. God grew Jonathan’s vision for his music as a means for others to find purpose, peace, and a place for praising God. After recovering from surgery, he is now able to play music again.
Jillian Tekell started her journey into the world of music through the avenues of school and church choir. She has always had a love for praising God through song, and as God has grown Jonathan’s vision and heart for music ministry, God has likewise grown Jillian’s heart and vision for using music as a means to bless and encourage others. Jonathan released his first solo album in 2018 entitled Love Me to Pieces, a multi-genre exploration into Christian music highlighting diversity with a foundation in the authentic worship of Jesus Christ. Following the release of Jonathan’s first album, he and Jillian felt led to complete a praise and worship-focused album as co-artists called In Light of Eternity, their first album to be released as a duo, featuring themes of hope, purpose, and eternal perspective in view of God’s promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Jonathan's latest solo album, Jesus Is the Best Ever, takes a wild tour through a variety of cultures and influences in the pure and simple-hearted worship of Jesus. The album resonates with a lighthearted wonder, an adventurous grit, and a creative depth that results in a memorable journey reflective of the unbridled creativity of God. |
“We pray that people would meet Jesus in these songs, and that these songs would change people’s lives, because when we truly meet Jesus, we can’t help but be changed.” –Jonathan and Jillian Tekell
